Unlike the existing viral vaccines Nobivac® Bb for cats is given intranasally. The procedure is safe, easy and effective.

  • The vaccine solvent is drawn up from the vial. The vial contains 0.5 ml of solvent. However, only 0.3 ml of solvent is required (it is possible to use the entire 0.5ml but this makes administration less easy).
  • The solvent is then used to reconstitute the freeze-dried vaccine in the Nobivac® Bb for cats vial. The syringe is then removed and the solution is mixed thoroughly - leaving the needle attached to the vial makes this easier.
  • The syringe is then re-attached to the needle and the mixed solution is drawn up.
  • The syringe is then removed from the needle and vial.
  • The head of the cat is gently tilted backwards and the solution dropped into one nostril. On average, the cat will receive a dose of 0.2ml of mixed solution using this method.
It is perfectly normal for the cat to lick its nose and perhaps sneeze after vaccination. This vaccination method of intranasal administration is suitable for both kittens and adult cats of all breeds, including flat-nosed breeds like Persians.
