Vaccine safety studies with Nobivac Bb for cats

Safety trials have shown that vaccination with Nobivac® Bb for cats is safe.

Few reactions have been recorded and most of these involved mild, transient sneezing. No significant adverse effects have been noted.

Several safety trials have been performed on Nobivac® Bb for cats. In the first trial, 4 week old kittens were vaccinated with a 10x dose or repeated dose of vaccine. A second field safety trial conducted in a rescue shelter and 6 private catteries compared vaccinated cats with placebo-vaccinated controls. In both trials, local reactions recorded consisted solely of occasional, mild, transient sneezing. No systemic problems were observed. A final large-scale field trial in the USA involving 1206 cats did not reveal any significant adverse reactions.

Vaccination of pregnant queens has been shown to be safe (to queen and kittens) at all stages of pregnancy (Gray et al 2002b).
