Duration of immunity studies with Nobivac® Bb for cats

It has been shown that a single vaccination with Nobivac® Bb for cats protects against the respiratory signs associated with Bordetella bronchiseptica infection for at least one year in kittens as young as 4 weeks of age.

A group of 4 week old kittens were vaccinated with a single dose of Nobivac® Bb for cats by the intranasal route. A group of unvaccinated control kittens was also used. Half of the vaccinated and control kittens were challenged with an aerosol of virulent Bordetella bronchiseptica (Bb) 6 months after vaccination. The remaining vaccinated and control kittens were challenged at 12 months after vaccination. The control kittens from both groups developed upper respiratory tract signs typical of feline Bb infection including rhinitis, sneezing and coughing. Vaccinated cats showed significantly lower clinical scores after challenges than the controls (Williams et al 2002). clinical scores for Nobivac Bb duration of immunity study
